My paper is going to be about the Dream Act. My paper will consist of what the dream act is, what are the requirements for students to apply to the dream act and what does the congress and political leaders have say about the dream act. I decided to write about the dream act becuase it caught my attention when it was on the news and it bothered me that students of immigrant families are on the verge of being deported. Many of these students are the first to graduate among their families and to attend College or a University.
I have already made up my mind that I want to write about the dream act but I have to have a thesis. I need suggestions on how to narrow my paper and focus. I need your help classmates what do you think my thesis could be?
Thesis: The dream act shoud be passed becuase it will provide immigrant students with the chance to stay in the United States and they are high performing students in schools with the goal to attend a college or a university.
I like your topic it is very different from most of the class. I think this would be good for expressing your opinion.
ReplyDeleteI love your topic... because I have a great interest in immigrants and also the special interest in the Latino community. However I feel as though your topic is very well organized and you will do great on your paper. I wonder if you are using actual stories of people who have experienced such things and how they feel and there challenges.
